President switch-hit in Russia

Russia got new president-elect on Sunday. One can hardly put it shortly better than Estonia´s ex-PM Mart Laar: "Power handover from Putin to Putin successfully accomplished". But at least in some way the choice, picked up by Putin and formally fixed at election day is also good news for Estonia: in difference of his predecessor Medvedev is not known for having some personal hate towards Estonians, so often expressed in last yeast from Kremlin. The reason - soon-to-be ex-Presidents father had been imprisoned in Estonia during WWII and for some reasons his son has had difficulties to understand why Estonians dislike some brutal regimes who have mastered them. There is a good proverb in Estonian - if God gives you a job, it also gives you wisdom. Hopefully it will turn out this way also at the top of Estonia´s gigantic neighbor - Russians clearly deserve a state that they can not be just proud about but that is also respected by others - and for it the long-forgotten reforms and media-freedom should be launched one day again.
